Rev Ruth Scott is cycling to Jerusalem!I am an Anglican priest seeking sponsorship for a three week charity cycle ride from Rome to Jerusalem taking place in February 2005.The £5,000 I need to raise will go to the Centre for Jewish-Christian Relations in Cambridge which is organising the event. Not only will the ride engage Jews and Christians in positive shared experience but it will also pass through places of relevance to Jewish, Christian or Jewish-Christian history, deepening my own understanding. I had hoped to raise the vast majority of the sponsorship from corporate bodies but it seems these are reluctant to sponsor projects with a religious dimension. So far I've raised £1,000 cycling from Richmond to Brighton (60 miles). If you feel moved to sponsor me for whatever amount I would be deeply grateful.
