CAIRO, THE NILE and LAKE NASER CRUISE

Marcus and Mary Braybrooke will be leading a cruise to Egypt from 3rd to 16th November 2011
Our journey up the Nile is also a journey in time. The Great Pyramids of Giza date from the third millennium BC. Tutankhamun and Rameses II ruled as Pharaohs in the late second millennium BC. From Egypt, Moses led the Israelite slaves to freedom and the Holy Family fled there from King Herod. Egypt has been a centre of Greek, Byzantine, and Muslim culture. Today it has a key role in the Middle East, is a centre of Islamic learning and home to Coptic Christians.
